1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to the DocNym website, DocNym desktop software and communications with DocNym. DocNym is an independent software brand. You can contact the person responsible for DocNym privacy matters at support@docnym.com.
2. Documents processed by DocClean
DocClean processes document contents locally on your device. It does not upload the document, its file name or its scan results to DocNym for scanning or cleaning.
You choose the files that DocClean processes. A cleaned output is written as a separate file. DocNym cannot see or recover the document content processed locally by the app.
3. Data processed when you visit the website
The website hosting and content-delivery providers may process basic technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, requested URL, timestamps and security events. This is used to deliver the website, prevent abuse and maintain reliability.
DocNym does not intentionally use advertising trackers or sell website visitor data. If optional analytics or marketing technologies are introduced later, this policy and any legally required consent controls will be updated first.
4. Purchase and fulfillment data
Purchases are planned to be processed by Paddle, which acts as the authorized reseller and merchant of record. Paddle collects the billing and payment information needed to complete a transaction under Paddle’s Privacy Notice. DocNym does not receive full payment-card details.
Paddle may share buyer identifiers and order information needed for product fulfillment, fraud prevention and support. DocNym uses that information to deliver the license code, validate purchase status and respond to purchase-related questions. It is not used for unrelated marketing without the consent required by law.
5. License activation data
To activate a paid license, the activation service processes a license identifier, purchase status, a device fingerprint hash, app version, activation timestamps and limited network or security metadata such as the requesting IP address. This is used to issue and verify a one-device license, prevent misuse and diagnose activation failures.
The device fingerprint is designed to identify an installation for licensing; it is not intended to reveal your document contents. After successful activation, the desktop app can perform its document work offline.
6. Support communications
If you email DocNym, we process your email address, message, attachments you choose to send and related correspondence. Please do not attach confidential documents unless they are necessary to diagnose an issue and you are authorized to share them.
7. Legal bases, retention and sharing
Depending on your location, DocNym processes data to perform a contract, pursue legitimate interests such as security and product support, comply with law, or act with your consent. Purchase and license records are kept for as long as needed to provide the license, prevent abuse, resolve disputes and meet accounting or legal obligations. Support records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes.
Data is shared only with providers needed for hosting, email, payment, license fulfillment, security or legal compliance. These providers may process data in countries other than your own and apply their own legally required safeguards.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability of your personal data, and to complain to a data protection authority. Email support@docnym.com to make a request. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where the law permits or requires it.
9. Security, children and changes
DocNym uses reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the data it handles, but no service can guarantee absolute security. DocNym products are not directed to children under 13, and DocNym does not knowingly collect their personal data.
This policy may be updated when products, providers or legal requirements change. The new effective date will appear at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted where required by law.
